A free patriotic concert under the summer sky — the National Repertory Orchestra’s Fourth of July Spectacular is a beloved Silverthorne tradition for the whole family.

The National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) returns to Rainbow Park in Silverthorne on Saturday, July 4, 2026, for its annual Fourth of July Spectacular. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the bowl-shaped amphitheater field fills with families spreading out blankets and low chairs for a morning of live orchestral music and Independence Day celebration — all completely free.

This year’s program, titled “A Star-Spangled 250,” commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood, led by longtime conductor Carl Topilow. The NRO is a nationally recognized summer training orchestra based in Breckenridge, and its Fourth of July concert is one of Summit County’s most cherished holiday traditions.

Between the music, kids can dive into the NRO Instrument Petting Zoo, a hands-on chance to touch, hold, and try out real orchestral instruments up close — a favorite for young music-lovers and curious first-timers alike.
