The Town of Dillon kicks off the holiday season on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., with the Lighting of Dillon and a family-friendly Holiday Lights Scavenger Hunt.
As dusk falls over Lake Dillon, the town switches on its holiday lights, including the giant illuminated 3D sculptures that make Dillon's Town Core glow all winter.
After the lighting, families pick up a Holiday Lights Passport and set off on a scavenger hunt through downtown Dillon, collecting stamps at the lit sculptures. Last year's hunt had seven stamp stations, and a completed passport earned a chance at a holiday gift.
Past editions have added hot cocoa, kids' crafts and visits with Santa. The town had not posted the exact 2026 starting location at the time of writing (recent years used Marina Park and Town Park), so check the Town of Dillon events calendar before heading out.
