Summer has arrived at Copper Mountain! Celebrate Copper’s opening weekend, with free live music by MooseKnuckle and Mystery Achievement from 4-6 p.m. at Alpinista Mountain Bistro on Saturday, June 20, activities, specials and promotions. Also, don’t miss the opening of Copper Creek today! Enjoy some of your favorite summer activities at Copper such as Go-Karts, scenic chairlift rides, the climbing wall, West Lake activities, mini-golf, the Quad Power Jump and much more. SUMMER EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
There is no shortage of family events at Copper this summer. Copper brings back favorites and also introduces new events – the Mountain Home & Outdoor Expo, the Copper Cup, and extended guitar and songwriter’s workshops during Guitar Town and Copper Country.
3 Ring Weekend, July 3-5, will feature a live performance by the Neil Diamond tribute band Super Diamond, the first annual Reuse, Recycle, Rummage Sale, and continue with the environmental focus from last summer – Red, White, Blue and Green. Back for the 20th year is the annual Courage Classic, July 25-27, raising money for the Children’s Hospital in Denver, with a 157-mile ride. Working in partnership with the Davis Phinney Foundation to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research, the famous Copper Triangle, August 1, has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic alpine road rides.
Guitar Town, August 7-9, will return for a 5th consecutive year, with the world’s best guitarists, featuring free guitar workshops, free live music, free screenings of the film Rock Prophecies, the ArtGuitar Silent Auction, Guitar Hero contests, and kid’s music activities all weekend. Make sure to check out 16-yr-old Amanda Shaw, a young music protégé, playing at Copper Country on Saturday, September 5. New this year, and in conjunction with Guitar Town, is the Mountain Home & Outdoor Expo, August 8-9, showcasing the region’s best designers, builders and green practices.
A Labor Day festival tradition at Copper Mountain, Copper Country, September 4-6, during the annual Homeowner’s Weekend, celebrates the best of the American spirit. Incredible free live music from headliners America and Little Feat, the Copper Country Arts Festival, a songwriter’s workshop, kids’ crafts, Copper Kids’ Corral, mechanical bull rides, a petting zoo and pony rides come together to make it THE Labor Day event for the entire family.
A new event this summer is the Copper Cup, August 28-30, which is a part of the Mountain States Cup Championship Series, the largest full-discipline mountain biking race series in the US. In addition, Guitar Town is offering an extended guitar clinic on August 5-6 and Copper Country is offering a songwriter’s workshop prior to the weekend.
