Title: International Snow Sculpture Championship
Location: Breckenridge
Description: In Breckenridge each year, people from varying cultures and climates come together to carve beautiful masterpieces from 20-ton blocks of snow. In just 65 hours, these enormous snow canvasses transform into dimensional works of art. In its 19th year, artists will carve these huge 12-foot blocks of snow into expressive pieces of art using only their own two hands, creative vision and approved hand tools. From a whimsical bouquet of enormous flowers, to thought-provoking abstract shapes, sculptors form these creations before thousands of spectators over the course of five days at the Riverwalk Center. To top it all off, observers are invited to explore worldly non-snow art and souvenirs at headquarters, where the history of the event is presented with a special exhibit.

2011 will be the 21st year of International Snow Sculpture Championships! We welcome visitors from beginning to the end of this free event (January 25 – February 6, 2011).
