Safety Fest at Copper

Copper will be recognizing NSAA Safety Week this year with Safety Fest, Jan. 15, 16 and 17 in Burning Stones Plaza in Center Village, highlighting Copper’s three safety initiatives: helmets, hydration and buddy skiing. Other highlights of Safety Fest are: free hot chocolate at Timberline Patrol and Patrol Headquarters; the daily avalanche dog demos in Burning Stones Plaza at 12:30 p.m.; and the Flight For Life helicopter fly-over and open house at Patrol Headquarters on Saturday only at 10 a.m.

It’s not time for bed yet – Copper PM heats up the night with En Fuego in the Village at Copper from 4 – 7 p.m. for a free street party the whole family will enjoy. DJ Caliente Cristobal, fire pits around the village, the South Garland Southern Belles Youth Drill Team, Cosmic Fire Performance and fireworks over West Lake at 7 p.m. round out the evening! After all, En Fuego is Spanish for an awesome Copper night.

Big Money Boardercross returns to Copper Mountain, offering $10K in prizes for the winners. This event is open to all competitors, no USASA or USSA membership is required. Registration for this event is only available online, and it closes at midnight on Jan. 12.
