78-mile cycling event partners with the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s disease research

The Copper Triangle has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic alpine road rides. The Alpine Cycling Classic exemplifies cycling in the Colorado Rockies. The road are graced with 78 miles of breathtaking scenery and three challenging high-altitude climbs (including Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass and Vail Pass).

The Copper Triangle exemplifies cycling in the Colorado Rockies and works in partnership with the Davis Phinney Foundation to raise funds for Parkinsons’ disease research. Graced with 78 miles of breathtaking scenery, gorgeous roads, and three challenging climbs (including Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass, and Vail Pass), the Copper Trianlge has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic alpine road rides.

Kick off the weekend with an extensive expo and a free concert Friday night starting at 5pm during registration.

Cyclist will start and finish at Burning Stones Plaza in central Copper Mountain Resort, Colorado. Amply stocked aid/rest stations will be positioned throughout the course. Upon returning from your ride, participants will be greeted by the “Volkswagen Alpine Celebration”. The post-ride party, with music, a first – class lunch, prize drawings and cycling expo will continue throughout the afternoon.

In addition to the great experience cycling this incredible alpine course, each participant will receive:

Jersey & Packet Pick Up

If you did not choose to have your packet mailed to you, you can pick up your packet at Kokopeli Trail in the Copper Conference Center at Copper Mountain at the following times:

If your Jersey does not fit, you can, Subject to availability, exchange it at the event at the merchandise booth.  Please note that availability will be limited and so we can’t guarantee that all sizes will be available.

Bike Numbers & Wrist Bands

You must wear your event bike number and wrist bands at all times!! Your bike number must be attached to the top tube of your bicycle. The numbers are designed to stick to themselves and not to your bike. The Colorado State Patrol has the authority to remove anyone without a bike number from the course. Attendants will be monitoring all aid stations and you will need to show your wrist band in order to receive refreshments. Your wrist band will also allow you to enter the post-ride Alpine Celebration and lunch.

Ride Start Time

Please plan to start your ride between 5:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. ALL riders MUST be on the road by 8:00a.m. We encourage riders to begin early to avoid the traditional afternoon mountain thunderstorms and highway traffic. Colorado State Patrol will not allow anyone to start prior to first light (5:45 am) without both front and back lights on your bike.
