Saturday, June 8th – Sunday, June 9th, 2013

 

The Town of Frisco will host the 37th annual  SalomonRun the Rockies weekend.   Run the Rockies will offer both road and trail run options to participants.  Run the Rockies will provide racers with challenging race courses and breathtaking scenery.

Saturday, June 8th – Half Marathon and Road 10k

Road 10k will start at 7:30am.

Half Marathon will start at 8:00am.

**New in 2013 road 10k and half marathon will have wavied start times**  Racers must take shuttle bus to the start of the race; there is no racer parking available at Copper Mountain.  The shuttle bus will pick racers up at 3rd and Granite in Frisco; the bus will run from 6:15am-7:30am.  The last shuttle bus will leave Frisco at 7:35am.

Sunday, June 9th – Trail 5k & 10k

Trail 10k & 5k will start at 8:00am.  Racer parking will be available at the Frisco Adventure Park; 621 Recreation Way.

RACE ENTRY FEES

Early Bird Registration Fee (register at the 2012 race price) August 24, 2012-November 1, 2012:  Half Marathon – $40, 5k or 10k – $30.

Registration Fee – November 2, 2012-April 30, 2013; Half Marathon – $50, 5k or 10k – $40.

Late Registration Fee – May 1, 2013-June 5, 2013; Half Marathon – $60, 5k or 10k – $40.

Day-of Registration Fee- Half Marathon – $65, 5k or 10k – $45.

Please note that youth 17 & under will receive a $10 discount on the race fees listed above.

PACKET PICK-UP

Half Marathon and 10k road race packet/bib pick-up will take place from 5pm-8pm on Friday, June 7th at Breeze Ski Rentals located at 908 N Summit Blvd, Frisco.  Day of packet/bib pick up will also be available from 5:30am-7:30am at the Frisco Community building located at 110 3rd Avenue, Frisco.

5K and 10K trail race packet/bib pick-up will take place from 5pm-8pm on Saturday, June 9th.  Location TBD.  Day of packet/bib pick up will also be available from 7am-8am at the Frisco Day Lodge located at 621 Recreation Way.

PRE-RACE DINNER

All racers are invited to attend the pre-race dinner at the Backcountry Brewery on Friday, June 7th.  Please check back for updated information about time, cost and other dinner details.

AWARDS

Overall: The top 3 male/female runners in each race will receive a prize.

Age Category Winners:   A prize will be given to the first place winner in each of the following age categories:  19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

TRANSPORTATION FOR JUNE 8TH

All half marathon and 10k road runners MUST take the shuttle buses to the start of the race.  There is no parking for runners at Copper Mountain.

Buses will leave the Frisco Community building located at 3rd and Granite beginning at 6:15am.    The last bus will leave at 7:35am.  Half Marathon runners are advised to load a shuttle bus by 7:30am.  There is NO transportation from the finish back to the start at the conclusion of the race.

RACE TEES

Register by April 30, 2013 to guarantee your t-shirt size.  T-shirt size will not be guaranteed to racers who register after May 1, 2013.

POST RACE PARTY

The post race party will take place on the lawn of the Frisco Historic Park, located at the finish line.  All racers will be asked to present their bib for a post-race meal.  Racers 21+ will also recieve a free beer from Backcountry Brewery.  We will have prizes to giveaway at the post race party as well.

REC PATH/TRAIL COURTESY

The races will take place on the Summit County Recreation Path or Summit County/USFS trails; all of which are open to the public.  Please leave strollers and pets at home for this race and be respectful of other users.

 RUNNING WITH MUSIC

If you choose to wear headphones during the race, we ask that you remove one ear bud.  It is important that all racers can hear what is going on around them.  Racers must be respectful of other recreation path and trail users.

RACER RESPONSIBILITY

The race director and event staff will not be held accountable for any racers that ‘miss’ the bus to the start of the race.  It is the racers responsibility to plan their time accordingly.

You are running this race at your own risk.  You will encounter mountain terrain.  You could encounter hazardous weather or wildlife during this race.  The race director reserves the right to cancel, delay or postpone the race due to inclement weather.  There are no refunds available.
