Mac Man returns to Copper for the 5th Annual Mac & Cheese Fest, July 27th – 28th. Come and enjoy indulgent, crafty, cheesy dishes as our chefs deliver the yummiest, most creative concoctions. If sampling is not enough, test your tummy at the eating. Kids can partake in an afternoon of free fun-filled activities and entertainment. Boogie down to live music.
COPPER TRIANGLE
A spectacular 78-mile loop cresting three mountain passes – Fremont Pass (elevation 11,318’), Tennessee Pass (elevation 10,424’) and Vail Pass (elevation 10,666’). The course passes three ski areas and is littered with historic mining outposts and Camp Hale, the training ground for the famous 10th Mountain Division. The total elevation gain for the course is 5,981 ft. A great day on two wheels. The Alpine Cycling Classic exemplifies cycling in the Colorado Rockies which features challenging high-altitude climbs over Fremont Pass, Tennessee Pass and Vail Pass. GUITAR TOWN
From August 9 – 11, experience the best guitar playing in the world at the 15th annual Guitar Town. The weekend includes three days of free acoustic and electric performances, guitar workshops, free guitar repairs from the Guitar Center and music activities for the kids.
Last year’s Guitar Town featured Al Di Meola, Robben Ford, Coco Montoya, John Jorgenson, Andy McKee, Pat Bergeson, Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, Rory Hoffman, Christie Lenée, Stig Mathisen, Scott Goldman, and Mark Selby Tribute. Also, Andy May’s Acoustic Kids Showcase will take place on the Guitar Center Stage at West Lake on Saturday night.
WRECKTANGLE CHAMPIONSHIP
Save the Date for the 2019 Woodward Copper WreckTangle Championships August 10th, 2019!
Format:
- Contestants will have two runs to post their fastest single run time through the WreckTangle. If a contestant falls or walks around any obstacle, there will be a 60 second penalty added to that run’s total time.
- Awards will be given to the top three female and top three male competitors from each age group, as well as top 3 overall best run times.
Cost: $35 per participant, includes event tee-shirt, warm up session, two WreckTangle runs during competition, and awards for division winners.
Age Divisions:
5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-26, 27-36, 37-47, 48+
Event organizers reserve the right to change or modify age divisions, competition rules and competition format if necessary.

Dig out the lederhosen and bring out the family for Keystone’s 7th Annual Oktoberfest taking place in the River Run Village on Saturday, August 31st. Start the day with the River Run Merchant Tent Sale along with the Das Bier Burner 5K Run and get primed for the festivities later in the day. The 5K benefits SOS Outreach and starts at noon. Register in advance at www.DasBierBurner.com. The Summit Concert Band kicks off the music at 1pm and Keystone’s local favorite Those Austrian Guys take the stage at 2pm and play throughout the day until 6pm. There will be plenty of kid’s activities including free face painters, crafts and the Edelweiss Schuhplattlers, Polka Dancers along with a River Run Merchant tent sale to clear out the summer inventory. Come sample beers from New Belgium Brewery! Buy a Keystone Oktoberfest 2019 Commemorative Stein for $35 and get 3 New Belgium seasonal beers with the mug or stein purchase and $5 refills. Free concerts, food booths, kids’ activities and beer flowing from 1pm – 6pm. Kinderfest Kinderfest (German for Children’s Day) – Oktoberfest for the Whole Family! Bring your little ones to Oktoberfest and enjoy Kinderfest located in Buffalo Courtyard. Enjoy plenty of kid-centric activities, show the kids how to polka and treat the family to some authentic German food! Kids can enjoy free face painting, make it, take it and eat it pretzel necklaces and crawl through the Cave of Confusion. The Edelweiss Schuhplattlers will be stopping by to teach kids how to polka.
