There are a handful of annual events in Breckenridge that are not to be missed. This trio of sudsy celebrations all make the list. From basking in the Summit sun to soaking up the sweet mountain views to filling, and then refilling, your commemorative stein or mug, here are some details on the best beer events in ‘the Kingdom.’

Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival

First up is the Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival in April. This year the event happens April 11 from noon to 5 p.m. downtown on Ridge Street. This celebration of spring, craft brews and Breck views is sure to be extra funky this year as the annual street bash takes on a disco/funk theme in honor of KSMT The Mountain’s 40th anniversary.

“We tied in the theme on behalf of KSMT and the funk show that’s been running for more than 15 years,” said Radiate Live events director Jen Radueg. “We’re adding a bit more to the festival this year. The funk theme should be fun. There will be a costume contest at 3 and a free karaoke stage across from Fatty’s. A whole setup.”

Breckenridge Oktoberfest

Last but certainly not least is the 21st annual Breckenridge Oktoberfest slated for Sept. 13-15 downtown on historic Main Street. This year’s street party where Munich meets the mountains will feature more than three dozen genuine German cuisine and brew vendors, lots of Bavarian lederhosen dancing and a weekend packed full of sunshine and fun for all ages.

The weekend is full of, you guessed it, beer, but we didn’t forget about those under 21. Oktoberfest will be full of entertainment for everyone; be sure to visit the face-painting stations, get some pre-festival exercise at the 5k run and test your skills at a wide variety of German-themed games, including the popular Hammerschlagen. Do your homework and read the Oktoberfest insider guide in preparation of the memorable weekend.

Taking place during the most scenic time to visit Breck and Summit County, aspen trees make up the breathtaking fall foliage and surrounds the Wiesn celebration. The Breck Connection has already planned the perfect fall itinerary just for you. You won’t want to miss this party.
