2014 MUSEUM PROGRAMS & EVENTS

ALL PROGRAMS & EVENTS ARE FREE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

May 16th – Friday
Night at the Museum!
5:00pm-8:00pm – Celebrate Colorado’s Preservation month with our annual community open house.  We will provide light refreshments, tours and a live music!

June 11th through August 27th – Wednesdays Lunchtime Lectures 
12:00pm – Historical Lunchtime Lecture Series featuring 12 educational presentations held at the Historic Park scheduled every Wednesday at noon. Seating is limited – arrive early!  Contact the Museum for more information on lecture topics:  970-668-3428

June 20th & July 18th – Fridays
Historic Tour of the Town of Frisco
10:00am – Meet at the Schoolhouse Museum at 120 Main Street. Talk a walk back in time and discover the history of Frisco’s Main Street and Galena Street.  No reservations required.

July 5th – Saturday
Frisco Founder’s Day!

10:00am to 4:00pm – Experience Frisco’s Heritage at the Frisco Historic Park & Museum and celebrate the Town’s History.  This event features simulated gold panning, live burro rides, costumed reenactments, interpretive tours, refreshments and wonderful live music in the gazebo. Contact the Museum for a schedule of events.

July 10th – Thursday
Ladies of the Wild West – The Good, the Bad, and the Lovely
3:00pm to 4:00pm –  Gather together with Tom ”Dr. Colorado” Noel, Hugh “Mark Twain” Bingham and with some of our local Frisco Belles who will regale and uplift you with tales of brave and comely Ladies of the Wild West.  Refreshments and libations encouraged during the lecture to help you swallow some improbable stretchers.  Free – No reservations required.  Lecture located at The Blue Spruce Inn (Old Town Steakhouse and Saloon) at 20 Main Street.

August 29th – Friday
Night at the Museum – Meet the Author
5:00pm-8:00pm – Experience a splendid summer evening at the Museum after hours.  Meet Children’s book Author Dr. Sandra Mather who will share tales of history in her new publication entitled Historic Footprints – A Picture Book for Young Readers.   This event is accompanied by a reception with light refreshments in the Museum.

September 6th & 7th – Saturday & Sunday
Fall Fest and Art Show

10am-6 pm – This all day Main Street festival on September 6th celebrates the sights, sounds and flavors of Colorado.  The event features a Harvest Market, Colorado artisans and musicians.  The Art Show runs Sept. 6th and 7th.  The festival takes place at the Historic Park and is free to attend.
